PERFORMANCES BY:

ade

Ade, formerly known as Phil Ade, is a Maryland/Washington, D.C. artist who released multiple mixtapes, singles and appearances. He is perhaps best known for his 2013 single “Toast to Life” featuring Kevin Ross. Throughout his career, he’s collaborated and/or performed with everyone from J. Cole, Logic, Wale, Raheem DeVaughn, Mac Miller and many more artists. In 2017, he released the single “No Fear” featuring Saba Abraha and Tate Kobang which was included in the WWE NXT soundtrack and received half a million streams. In 2019, he signed with Epic Records in partnership with HighRes Global and dropped his latest EP, “Always Something” out now.

CECILY

DC-based vocalist and songwriter CECILY is known for her agile soprano and honest lyrics. Her current album "Songs of Love and Freedom" was named “Best New Soul on Bandcamp” by the Bandcamp editorial team, who described the project as “stirringly timeless and modern.” Her sound, as soothing as it is rich, is musically mature, and rooted in a deep appreciation for mid-century soul and jazz, 90’s R&B, and re-imagined folk music. her fresh-faced lyrics boldly portray the heart young Cecily has fought for, as well as the wisdom of love earned and freedom gained over a life of being misunderstood and told she was “before her time” or “mature beyond her years.”

CHAZ FRENCH

Chaz French is known for his visually enthralling video concepts and culture-shifting ideology. The rising MC spends his days touring the country with Billboard chart-topping acts such as Wale and Goldlink – coupled with energetic performances at some of the most popular music festivals, including Electric Forest, Hopscotch, SXSW and Fashion Meets Music Festival. Pivotal moments for French’s career also include opening for Waka Flocka at the historic Howard Theatre and Broccoli City Festival in Washington, DC. With the help of 368 Music Group (CCCLXVII), a colorful past, and sharp focus on the future, Chaz French plans to leave a mark that impacts not only the music industry but the world.


CHRISTINA JONES 

Christina Jones is a creative from Brooklyn, New York with Singing, Songwriting, and musical production is in her DNA (she's the granddaughter of an original member of the award-winning singing group, The Dells). christina has proven that creativity transcends across varying industries, including information technology.

 

In 2007, she was presented with an opportunity that led her to relocate to Washington, DC working with a pioneering Technology firm. over the past decade, Christina has leveraged her creativity, knowledge of technology, and people skills to take on her most current role as the VP of Global Engagement of a startup digital transformation agency. Next, she looks forward to sparking conversations across industries to bring together innovative ideas.


DEBORAH BOND

Bold, bright, and full of energy, Deborah Bond has been a force on the independent soul music scene who continues to grow and glow! Debórah (pronounced De-BOR-rah) Bond and her dynamic band “Third Logic” have been performing as a collective for over 10 years nationally and beyond, giving them a pure and genuine chemistry. In addition to creating with her band Third Logic, Deborah Bond has been featured on countless collaborations with the top in neo-soul, jazz, & hip hop, keeping her name and brand circulating amongst the best of the business. One of her most notable collaborations is with the legendary UK super band, Incognito. 


DJ OXYGEN

Shawn “Dj Oxygen” Dillard, hailing from Trenton, NJ, was the co-founder of the country’s first accredited Sound Engineering and DJ Academy for High School youth in Prince George’s County Maryland, "Dj Oxygen's Youth DJ Academy", which he launched in 2012.


Formally trained by DJ Eric B. of the 80’s rap group, Eric B. and Rakim, Dj Oxygen has continued to DJ large events throughout the country. His skillful beats have landed him work with some the industry’s greats, such as the Notorious B.I.G, Mary J. Blige, DL Hughley, Just Jokes USA, Jay Z, Ludacris, Timmy Hall, Kenny Burns and DC’s own Experience Unlimited (EU), just to name a few. 


EDDIE BRYANT

Eddie Bryant is a comedian, writer, actor and producer known for his perfect sense of timing and delivery. He has appeared on "Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand Up" (STARZ Network), "One Mic Stand with Kevin Hart" ( BET Network) and "Laff Mobb’s We Got Next" (Aspire Network). He is best known for his funny, innovative, creative, and sincere approach to stand up comedy.

YUSHA

yusha is A creative, lyrical, and insightful storyteller/vocalist with over 20 years of experience in writing and recording music. A 2016 Source Magazine Unsigned Hype, Yusha makes dope music that tells a story and inspires greatness. He believes that his success must be built with the hands and hearts of people, and not off their backs. He uses his music to connect, inspire, and challenge listeners to live life “with great care.” he has opened up for major artists such as The Game, K. Michelle, Brandy, Scarface, Ja Rule, August Alsina, and others. He's performed at conferences, such as A3C Festival in Atlanta, SXSW in Austin, TX, and Revival DC in the nation’s capital.

 

Yusha is currently working on the growth of his self-titled music app,  which is currently available to all Apple and android users.

Grits & Garri | Weekdays at 9PM

“Grits & Garri” is a podcast featuring artist-on-artist interviews and live collaborations.  It juxtaposes the work of African-American, African and Caribbean artists who create music in Washington, DC. The purpose of this podcast is to examine how fresh work produced by millennials within the African diaspora challenges traditional modalities of “black” expression, channels intercultural curiosity and functions as a tool for mutual understanding.  The missions of “Grits & Garri” is singular: advancing all people to greater acceptance and appreciation of each other. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, DC’s Black population nears 50% with more than 161,000 African and Caribbean-born people living in DC and surrounding suburbs. It is estimated that the population includes almost 20,000 people from Nigeria and 18,000 people from Ghana.

Forever Duncan | Weekdays at 8 AM

Dating, relationships, and marriage have changed drastically over the past few decades. Love no longer looks like the old ways of our parents and grandparents. Coming to America with Wayna and Friends | Weekdays at 9 PM

Coming to America with Wayna and Friends is a radio show and podcast featuring spirited discussions with a cast of African, Caribbean, and African American co-hosts and artists in the District. Through conversation sparked by recurring segments: Comic Relief, Diaspora Dilemmas, real-life challenges, success stories and more. The cast will discuss a range of social and cultural issues relevant to the African, Caribbean, and African American experience in DC. The program’s goal is to foster mutual awareness and appreciation among these growing and diverse groups, who despite their cultural differences, share vastly common challenges, aspirations, and values.

“The Sanctuary” is an informational radio show for women of color to be inspired, educated and empowered to be their most authentic and healthy selves by tapping into the Goddess within.  “The Sanctuary” addresses the well-documented, health and wellness disparities we face and shares long-lost, indigenous, holistic methods of healing our bodies with a focus on nutrition; while highlighting local change-agents who are working to positively impact the trajectory of the community.

Admission includes all-night premium open bar, gourmet southern buffet prepared by Chef Jordan Sterling of Deacon South Provisions, live salsa, funk and hip-hop bands, gift bags, parking, and shuttle transportation to and from The Summit.


*All guests must be 21 and over to attend. Each ticket admits one guest and is non-transferrable. Shuttles run every 30 minutes until 3 a.m. Please alert shuttle driver if you require a cab–we are happy to arrange pickup from parking location. Please drink responsibly.
